  • Baruntse is a stunning mountain located in the Khumbu region of Nepal. It stands at an impressive height of 7,129 meters or 23,389 feet. The Baruntse Expedition offers a challenging and rewarding experience for mountaineers.

    The journey to Baruntse typically starts from Lukla, and trekkers make their way through the beautiful landscapes of the Khumbu Valley. The climb itself requires technical mountaineering skills, including ice climbing, glacier travel, and high-altitude climbing techniques. It's important to have experience in using crampons, ice axes, and navigating through crevasses.

    Reaching the summit of Baruntse offers breathtaking views of the surrounding Himalayan peaks, including Everest, Lhotse, and Makalu. The best time to attempt the Baruntse Expedition is during the spring (April and May) and autumn (October and November) seasons, when the weather is generally more stable.

    The Baruntse expedition is a challenging and rewarding mountaineering adventure in the Himalayas. 

    • Day 1 Arrival in Kathmandu
      Altitude: 1,400m

      - Arrive in Kathmandu and transfer to the hotel. - Meet with the expedition team and receive a briefing about the expedition.

    • Day 2 Kathmandu
      Altitude: 1,400m

      - Rest and acclimatization day in Kathmandu. - Explore the city and make final preparations for the expedition.

    • Day 3 Kathmandu to Lukla to Chutanga
      Altitude: 2,860m and 3,430m

      - Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla, the gateway to the Everest region. - Trek to Chutanga, passing through beautiful landscapes and Sherpa villages.

    • Day 4 Chutanga to Tuli Kharka
      Altitude: 4,300m

      - Trek from Chutanga to Tuli Kharka, ascending through rhododendron and pine forests. - Enjoy stunning views of the surrounding mountains.

    • Day 5 Tuli Kharka to Kothe
      Altitude: 3,691m

      - Trek from Tuli Kharka to Kothe, descending through dense forests. - Cross the Hinku River and reach Kothe, a small settlement.

    • Day 6 Kothe to Thangnak
      Altitude: 4,350m

      - Trek from Kothe to Thangnak, following the Hinku River. - Pass through beautiful alpine meadows and cross several streams.

    • Day 7 Thangnak
      Altitude: 4,350m

      - Rest and acclimatization day in Thangnak. - Explore the area and prepare for the upcoming challenges.

    • Day 8 Thangnak to Khare
      Altitude: 5,045m

      - Trek from Thangnak to Khare, the base camp for Baruntse. - Ascend through rocky terrain and enjoy panoramic views of the mountains.

    • Day 9 Khare
      Altitude: 5,045m

      - Rest and acclimatization day at Khare. - Attend a training session on mountaineering techniques and safety.

    • Day 10 Khare to Mera La
      Altitude: 5,415m

      - Trek from Khare to Mera La, crossing the Mera Glacier. - Set up a high camp near Mera La for the next day's climb.

    • Day 11 Mera La to Baruntse Base Camp
      Altitude: 5,250m

      - Climb from Mera La to Baruntse Base Camp. - Set up the base camp and prepare for the summit push.

    • Day 12-25 Summit Attempt and Descend

      - Start the summit push on Baruntse (7,129m) with multiple camps along the way. - Ascend to Camp 1 (6,100m), Camp 2 (6,600m), and Camp 3 (6,900m). - Make the final summit push from Camp 3 to the summit of Baruntse. - Descend back to the base camp and rest.

    • Day 26-29 Contingency Days

      - These days are kept as contingency in case of bad weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

    • Day 30 Baruntse Base Camp to Thangnak
      Altitude: 4,350m

      - Descend from Baruntse Base Camp to Thangnak. - Enjoy the beautiful scenery and relax after the challenging climb.

    • Day 31 Thangnak to Kothe
      Altitude: 3,691m

      - Trek from Thangnak to Kothe, retracing the earlier route. - Enjoy the last views of the mountains before descending further.

    • Day 32 Kothe to Tuli Kharka
      Altitude: 4,300m

      - Trek from Kothe to Tuli Kharka, passing through forests and streams. - Enjoy the peaceful surroundings and the changing landscapes.

    • Day 33 Tuli Kharka to Lukla
      Altitude: 2,860m

      - Trek from Tuli Kharka to Lukla, the final destination of the trek. - Celebrate the successful expedition with the team.

    • Day 34 Lukla to Kathmandu
      Altitude: 1,400m

      - Fly from Lukla to Kathmandu. - Transfer to the hotel and rest.

    • Day 35 Kathmandu
      Altitude: 1,400m

      - Rest and relaxation day in Kathmandu. - Explore the city, shop for souvenirs, and celebrate the successful expedition.

    • Day 36 Departure

      - Depart from Kathmandu with wonderful memories of the Baruntse expedition.
