  • When we talk about the Annapurna Base Camp, we get a rush of awe that leaves every trekker speechless. Few treks can make you fall in love with the scenery while bringing you closer to the base of 7,000 and 8,000-meter peaks in a short amount of time. One of the most popular treks in the Annapurna region is the Annapurna Base Camp trip. The trail is breathtaking, passing past rice paddies, rich rhododendron forests, and high-altitude sceneries, with the Annapurna Range looming in the background most of the time.

Annapurna Base Camp trek is generally known as ABC Trek. ABC is situated at the height of 4130 meters. Ghorepani-Poonhill, Ghadruk route, and Dhampus – Chhomorong route is the three routes to ABC. Col. James Roberts of the United Kingdom discovered ABC in 1956. He was so taken aback by its beauty that he named it the "Sanctuary of the Gods."

On the Annapurna trek, accommodation is provided in traditional teahouses where excellent Nepali cuisine is served. Locals from the area who have migrated from different parts of Nepal manage these tea establishments. Because you hike along the trail of the Annapurna Sanctuary, the Annapurna Base Camp Trek is also known as the Annapurna Sanctuary Trek. Various floral and faunal species may also be discovered in this area, which will astonish you with its beauty. You can see the entire sanctuary, which is oval-shaped and enclosed by a ring of the Annapurna Mountains, from a height of 4,000 meters.
